I purchased the computer. Very happy. I loaded all my programs. THEN I noticed that battery at 97% charge and TWO HOURS remaining. I called BestBuy. They said, even though I joined Geek Squad, looking at the new computer was not part of the plan and I could return it. I resisted because of all the work I put into loading software. I was uncomfortable with a computer w/ only two hours of battery life and returned it after two weeks. In summary: the computer was great. I don't know what happened with the poor battery performance. But for sure I'll buy another one once this virus ends.

I needed a laptop that was fast enough to do a lot of coursework for college, and it works pretty well. I really like the 2 in 1 model and wanted to try it out because I knew I would take lots of notes and draw lots of diagrams for college. The laptop size is ideal for me, not to big or too heavy to put on my lap and a good size for writing like a tablet. The laptop runs at a relatively fast speed and it is easy to work with so far. I also like the idea that there is an HDMI port you can use to plug into a larger monitor and have a larger view to work on stuff. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because I had a few concerns. -The lighting on the keyboard is a little bit too dim for me, so sometimes it is hard to see the keys. -The battery life is fine, but I wish it lasted longer. The battery life is 3-4 hours as the product states, so I won't complain too much. -When you start the laptop, the fan kicks in pretty loud for about 30 minutes, but it does calm down and become quiet after longer use so it is not too bad. -The mouse is pretty sensitive when you try to move the mouse around even if you lower the sensitivity. Just be careful if you set up your track pad to do a lot of functions. -The pen is like any normal pen, where the amount of pressure on the pen is how thick your strokes will be. I really like the feel of the pen, it is a good size and gives you a good grip when holding the pen and using it. I am a little nervous that the tip of the pen will become dull from doing lots of writing and planning, so if Dell does make another model please have replaceable tips for the pens. I am not too worried about the pen now; I just wanted to leave it as a suggestion. Overall the laptop is really nicely designed and has a lot of cool features! If I could I would put 4.5 stars for this laptop!

The devices feature is very convenient to use with a stylus pen. The only downside to this laptop is that it gets really hot fast and it blue screen on me the first time I receive the laptop and sometime it would have a flickering screen. Don't know what it is? So I am going to return the laptop back.

      Honesty100,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear that your computer is not performing as well as you hoped it would. We'd recommend the following tips to help your computer's overall temperature:

      Tips for Proper Usage:

      1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
      2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
      3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
      4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
      5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
      6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uJ8AdG.

If you'd like to diagnose the Blue Screen Errors that you're experiencing we'd recommend these steps:

      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2PPb4BI.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct.

Lastly, if you are continuing to have a flickering screen you can try to troubleshoot it with the steps in this article: https://dell.to/3dvnuYX.

Bought in April 2020. In December I opened the display as I normally do and the bottom bezel cracked in half. I noticed then that this was because the display and the lid are separating. I called Dell’s warranty department and after going round and round sending photos and video they said that they would have to connect me support because they were declaring this was due to accidental damage. There’s not a single scratch or dent anywhere other than the bezel that is very obviously broken because the screen is no longer secured to the lid. The whole thing shifts. I bought this laptop because I’m working from home and now I’m afraid you use it. I wouldn’t dare try to fold it for drawing. So thanks for the $1100 paperweight.

I gave taken very good care of my computer. It worked well for less than a year; now I’m having all kinds of problems with it. It sticks, sometimes it won’t power up, I get black-screen or white-screen for hours. At times the cursor or arrow won’t work, so I cannot access my applications. All I mostly do on this computer is program on Jupyter Notebook or write essays. I barely surf the Internet, but if I do I’m usually just reading articles. This computer hasn’t been used much. I need to exchange this computer and fast. I’m a data science student!

This is my third Dell 13.3" laptop and second purchase in less than a year. I purchased my first Dell laptop five or six years ago with a mechanical hard drive and 4gb memory..... a dinosaur in today's technological world. As that laptop aged, it seemed to slow down and developed issues with the Windows 10 operating system often freezing up, soooooo........ In August 2019, I purchased a high-end state-of-the-art Dell laptop from Best Buy (256gb SSD hard drive, 16g memory, Intel Core i7 8th generation processor with Windows 10) to use in addition to the older laptop. (New Dell for business/work, older Dell for recreation, surfing in bed, etc.) It's lightening fast processor speed (with 16gb vs. 4gb ram), faster boot up, improved version of Windows 10, longer battery life were so impressive that I came to hate using the older laptop, sooooo.......... A year later in August 2020, I purchased (from Best Buy) the current version of last year's Dell laptop to replace the older Dell laptop. (Basically the same model computer as the one purchased a year earlier, but one generation newer with additional features.) This latest model came with 512gb SSD hard drive (vs 256gb last year) and an 'Active Pen' for writing on the screen (vs capability, but no included 'Active Pen' last year). It has an Intel Core i7 10th generation processor (vs 8th generation last year). This is the model that I am currently reviewing. Much like the prior year's version, this model boots up rapidly, has a lightening fast processor, plenty of RAM and an impressively long battery life. If left still running and unplugged for a number of days, the battery will lose very little power during that time. These newer Dell laptops are noticeably lighter in weight than the older one. I suspect this is largely attributable to the new ones having SSD storage vs. mechanical hard drive in the older one. For many, many years my loyalty was to Compaq/HP laptops, even before the merger nearly 20 years ago. (Ignoring her politics, I was impressed with how Carly Fiorina transformed HP into a consumer oriented company with awesome customer service.) However, over time, I became less satisfied as Compaq/HP laptops evolved and this led me to purchase my first Dell laptop five or six years ago just to see what the competition was offering. An incredibly low Black Friday sale price made that decision easier. Now I do not even look at HP laptops when shopping. In short, I highly recommend this Dell laptop. It's somewhat more expensive than other laptops out there, but spread out over the year of service, the additional cost is minimal. The robust speed and memory along with other features in this high-end Dell laptop are well worth the additional cost. The sweetness of low price is temporal and fades while the bitterness of low quality is enduring.

I love this laptop! I had an inspirion that was 6 years old and upgraded it with this new model. We had the same overheating issue many people have had; this seems to be an issue with the way the laptop is set up. My fiance did some research and found we can simply turn off "performance mode." We did this on the first day and it has not had any issue with overheating ever since. That performance mode just makes it heat up super bad and makes a horrible sound while it's trying to cool itself down. I would recommend everyone turn it off and it works perfectly. I didnt notice anything turning it off; does not run slow at all or many any difference I have noticed at all. This is a great laptop for surfing the web, emails, microsoft office and all other apps run great. Battery life is short but not a big deal for me; only thing I wish they would have improved on. Super awesome laptop though. Very nice looking, sleek, very light modern look. I love the nice crisp view and that it comes with a pen for the touchscreen. The pen sits perfectly inside the laptop while closed with no issue- so fancy. Haha. Overall I recommend. It's a great laptop for not a ridiculous price.

This is a nice little 2 in1. It has great power and speed. I got the I7 16g so it has the juice for my small home business needs. As the others said - man this thing gets HOT! That is a concern. Also, there is only 1 ONE USB port. I needed to purchase an extender. Otherwise, it does the job and was worth the $850 I paid.

Small and lightweight which was what I was looking for. Respectible battery life. Runs a little hot under what I would call light loads. For me it was worth the extra money to get the larger SSD drive for storage and increased memory because I perfer to work locally and backup to cloud storage. If you are okay with having less local disk space and are good with cloud storage as your primary storage I would recommend a less expensive model. Overall I am please with the performance of this laptop.

Lightweight, core i7, 16 gb and 512 SSD allow me to carry everything I need to present without a super heavy bag of stuff. With the full size usb 3.0 for my slide flipper, and full size HDMI to connect to almost any projector or TV, then I use bluetooth for a mouse and external speaker, and I don't even need to have dongles or mini-version adapters to setup at a conference or class. Of course I do have the option for a lot more connections with the USB C and what ever you want to add there. Only downside so far is the micro SD slot instead of the regular SD, but I already had a dongle to fix that so I am good there.

The screen on this laptop is amazing for a 13-inch. Keyboard is good, and excellent build quality. The only reason I am giving this laptop 4 out of 5 stars is because, this laptop was pre-loaded with so much bloatware that it actually crashed the system, once I turned it on, right out of the box brand new. Removing the bloatware from this system was an actual nightmare. Microsoft, Dell and many 3rd vendors have actually outdone themselves, when it came to loading pre-loading this laptop with unwanted software, at the expense of the actual customer. My advise to the consumer is - if you do not feel like running scripts in power-shell to debloat this laptop, and disabling Microsoft Telemetry and Spying Services, disabling data collection in task scheduler, going through the local group policy editor/registry to make changes to unwanted spyware, then this laptop is not for you. I don't understand why Dell would allow something so nefarious like the Smart Byte Application to pre-loaded onto a beautiful peace of machinery. But once you remove all the bloatware and spyware, this laptop becomes an amazing ultra light weight portable. The fans will not spin excessively and overheat to crash the system.

This laptop is a great value for its price, plenty of power, light weight, compact and very versatile. I wanted a laptop with an i7 processor with plenty of memory, but didn't want to spend too much money, and wanted to stay as much below $1k as possible. I also wanted a small and compact size. To start I got mine on sale for $1000 and at that price, I don't think this laptop can be beaten. Its specs are about as good as you'll need although not having a graphics card option like its 15-inch sibling is a little disappointing. The hinge feels solid which combined with its all-metal build gives it a very sturdy feel. Having a 4K touch screen at this price is pretty nice however it doesn't get super bright so viewing it in direct sunlight isn't great but this also means it can get really dim at low brightness making it nice for use in a dark room at night. The pens alright nothing amazing it has a little delay it's no apple pencil but its definitely good enough especially with its built-in holder. The battery life is meh you'll need a charge every 4-5 hours may be with normal usage. Overall I would recommend it especially if you can get it on sale I would say it is one of the best priced 2 in 1s on the market trust me I did a lot of searching before I bought this one. Pros: Metal Build Very Light Sturdy Hinge Includes pen Pen Holder 4K Fingerprint sensor Cons: Not super bright screen Pretty bad Speakers

This computer was not even on my radar when I started looking for a new laptop a month ago. Instead, I was bedazzled by the cuts and corners on the HP Spectre x360 FHD. It was a nice machine but after week one, the touchpad started becoming unreliable and HP diagnostics said the touchpad needed to be replaced. For me, a major hardware failure in the first thirty days of ownership is a red flag. I exchanged the Spectre for the 13" Surface Laptop 3. I love the look and feel of the surface laptops. Unfortunately, it was running so hard it stopped working (it would boot on the Microsoft logo screen, shut off and repeat). Sadly, I decided to try a Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 13". I've had Samsungs since defecting from Apple to windows five years ago. They are usually pretty reliable. The Pro had no defects but the screen was a real disappointment. I know many people think 1080 on a 13" is more than enough but I think QHD and 4k provide a much better reading experience. I noticed the Dell 7391 when I got the Samsung but the regular price of $1299. Was out of my budget. The sale price of $999. made it a possible to purchase. And I am so happy I found it. The screen is amazing. And the hardware make it very fast. The cherry on top is the stylus with built in housing. This laptop is a true sleeper hit!!

I've had this for 3 months, and overall I'm pleased. I normally am HP loyal, but expectantly needed another laptop. At the time it was on sale for $400 off. Pretty good deal. Pros It's fast, not a lot of bloat-ware, sound, wifi, display, all good. Cons Battery life. In the power mode, I run it at about 30%, expecting great battery life. I'm not a gamer. Mostly browsing & emails. Battery is only good for just over 4 hours. A far cry from the 8+ I got from my HP Spectre. Keyboard is back-lit, but most of the light comes from the side of the keys. Not much light coming through the keys themselves. The under carriage gets really warm, bordering on hot. I frequently use mine in a reclined position, with this laptop resting on my gut. When using it for a few hours, I've had to ice the area down (my gut, not the laptop) to cool down. Would I buy it again? Again, it was a good sale price, so (hesitates) probably.

      SirBilliam,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the issues that you've had with your 2-in-1 so far. Here are some tips to help extend the life of your computer's battery:

      Change the Power Plan:

      1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
      2. On the options list, click Power Options.
      3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.

      a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
      b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
      c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
      d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
      e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
      f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

This is a great laptop overall. The specs are amazing and it performs well too. Like the other review mentioned, initially the fan did run constantly when I purchased it, but there was a BIOS update that seems to have fixed it. The keyboard is decent and I love the screen. My only concern is that the hinge seems kinda flimsy but otherwise, I have little to complain about.

This is my first touchscreen, 2 in 1 PC. It has been a bit of a challenge learning the proper way to use it in Windows tablet mode. I am amazed at the superfast startup. The first few times, I thought I had forgotten to shut it down and had put it to sleep instead. Not so, it’s really that fast. The 4K display is excellent. Sound with headphones is really nice, without headphones is ok. The active pen/stylus has minimal instructions. It works fine for drawing/deleting drawing and as a right click on folders. I haven’t determined how to use it for selecting/moving text. The touch pad works fine once I read up on how to use it. I hadn't expected to need to use 2 fingers for some of the commands. My main disappointment thus far is battery related. I had read a LaptopMedia review on this model which stated 630 hours of web browsing. My laptop was down to 9% with 28 mins left after 4 hours and 35 mins browsing for pc instruction articles using Win Edge. I had turned battery saver on about an hour into my session. I’m also using a cooler fan as the battery becomes very hot without it, which keeps me from using it folded into a tablet for any length of time. After charging the battery, I belatedly realized that it resets that battery saver option to off upon charging. Something I need to remember to reset after each charge. I have now followed Win settings battery saving recommendations and also removed OneDrive and all syncing. So far I have used it for 3 hours since last charge and its indicating I’m at 26% with 2 hours left. So a bit better. Of course the remaining battery time keeps fluctuating so I don’t feel I can really trust it too much. Update: I shut down and let the laptop sit for a week. Battery shows 14% with 45 minutes left. How can it lose so much without being powered on???!! I know this laptop is only 3.2 lbs and feels light weight when held while open, yet to me it feels heavy when closed. If the pandemic ever ends, I plan to travel with it and am hoping it doesn’t feel heavy in my backpack. I'll also need to find a lightweight laptop cooler and usb hubs to take with. I am content with this laptop for the sale price and the fact it came with the active pen. I was originally concerned about the small 13” screen yet it seems perfect for a portable pc. I do wonder if I should have paid more and bought the Dell XPS or perhaps one of the other 2 that held my interest - HP Spectre X360 or Lenovo Yoga C940, although maybe their battery duration is not as expected either.

Since I bought this computer for my daughter, an environmental engineer major at university, I’m essentially passing along her sentiments about the computer. The lightness and portability really appeals to her, especially the ability to use the included pen to physically write her notes in the tablet mode. She’s adjusted to this format very quickly and showed me how effectively and efficiently she can capture her professors live lectures. Making the transition from her now bricked MacBook Air to this 2in1 has her tickled how easy it was and has her convinced that this Dell product is going to be a part of her life through grad school!

Was looking for an ultraportable or surface with 16GB RAM and at least a 500GB SSD. This fit the bill and was considerably cheaper than the comparable surface model (especially considering it includes a pen and keyboard). I don't love the fully folded tablet mode as it feels weird to be touching the keys on the back when you do this, but it works fine. My only complaint would be the intel optane (SSD) manager seems to run all the time (causing the fans to run) and this thing gets loud. A recent firmware/bios update fixed this to only run periodically, but it still gets really loud for a laptop. I use this for programming and the small keyboard works well except I use the home/end keys a lot in my work and having them behind a function key press is a bit awkward.
