Don't bother with a 7200 RPM. The new 5400 RPMs such as this one are nearly as fast . The memory and SSD will be way more noticable. Definetly go SSD. You can get a MX300 275GB Crucial drive now for about $60 and a 500GB+ for around $110 on sale. Also search the web and see if this machine will accept 16GB total, a lot of Dell machines accept more memory than Dell admits to. They like to artificially create PC price ranges by saying the memory is limited on the low-end machines. With a SSD and 16GB ram this would be an awesome value, especially if you bought it at the lowest sale price I've seen the past 2 months ($249.99). Always check the price online, even if the store or ads have higher prices. I snagged one for $259.99 last week on a one day price match with their own website, while the price in the store was $329.99! Look up the chipsets at ark.intel.com it may help you find out if it supports more memory than 8GB (though the Dell BIOS may or may not cooperate) Good Luck. Northbridge Chipset is a Broadwell-U Rev. 09 Southbridge Chipset is a ID5CC9 Rev. 03 If someone gets more than 8GB in this machine and working, let us know!
