Sometimes, the battery will lose charge when it is sitting on a shelf and is being transported to you. I wouldn't be too worried. I would leave it plugged in overnight to ensure it is fully charged prior to unplugging it again. If the battery is not being recognized, I would recommend updating Windows and all of your drivers. If it still does not recognize, the computer may have a hardware issue, and you should probably exchange it within 15 days of receiving it.
