This laptop is comparable to the lower price point hp laptops in my opinion this Dell laptop has pretty decent specs for the price as I have had a few hp laptops and they were lower specs for the same price point hope this helps

I think it has to do a lot with what are you using your computer for. The Asus has the things that I'm looking for my daughter, she wants a small, compact laptop that she can take to college, she likes to download videos so this has 1 T the memory. It is very slow to start compering with the HP that my son has, but overral I think it is good for the price.
