Yes its good for that but if you use a software program that you download that is big and heavy meaning has lots of things to make it work like a photoshop program would, then it may run slow but should still be fine. 

I had an old 10 yr old intel core two duo that ran intensive programs and this pentium may be about almost equal to it, given the time but it did run up to 2.0 Ghz while this one will do 1.5 Ghz basically but that just means may run slower. I used a program for creating tutorials for work called Camtasia.
