Yes you can, but it costs almost as much as the laptop itself and may void the warranty. I'm considering upgrading the ram on mine from 3gb to 8gh but just haven't done so yet.

Yes you can. You can swap out any hard drive for a SSD. Get software to clone drive or pay Geek Squad to swap it.
