It will probably record the tracks just file. Mixing would probably work glitch-free as well as long as there are not an excessive number of plug-ins being used. Some plug-ins use more system resources than others so there's really no way to tell and every computer has it's limits. If you do get some PB (playback) glitches, it should render ok just the same. A more ideal set-up would be a solid state HD for the applications and a secondary drive for the audio files. Tip: Always record and render in the lossless PCM format. <.wav>. An MP3, AAC or other lossy file type can be encoded from the Wave master. I would not recommend an i5 or 5400 RPM HD for video editing, though it may work.
