Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey Shawn, It is DDR4 ram. One of the great things about this laptop is that the internals are easily accessible and upgradable. In this case, the ram is not soldered on, so you can replace the 4GB with 8 if you like. To be honest though, at the moment, unless you are running virtual machines, 16GB will make little to no difference to the 12GB that's already in there.
