Mine came with a SK Hynix SC311 SATA 256GB drive. It is definitely SATA. It fits into the M.2 slot on the motherboard, which also supports PCIe drives. I have another recent Dell laptop which also came with a SATA M.2 drive and I was able to swap it out for a 1TB PCIe NVMe drive with no problems. I plan on doing the same thing on this laptop as prices drop. From what I have read, the 512GB version of this laptop DOES have a PCIe drive, but the 256GB versions have SATA.
