- Answer Yes but it only has 1 slot. So you need to buy a single 16gb ram stick which costs between 80-130 bucks depending on brand and speed. its a bummer it only has 1 slot as you can't put 32gb in and future proof it with some ram channeling. also you will have that 8gb stick just sitting around. I'd recommend if you ever open it up say to swap its hard drive with an ssd then you can throw another ram stick in there too.

- Answer Well not sure what CAD software you are referring to because some have different requirement but generally I would say yes. It has 8gb of ram, a 6th generation intel i5 cpu with intergrated graphics chipset, and has pretty nice high resolution monitor. If needed you could always add more ram memory. Swapping out the hard drive in the future with an ssd would also be an improvement.
