I use Crucial.com to check on memory and HDD options for any computer. Enter the model and they will tell you all the options available for any modern machine. According to Crucial, Max Memory is 16GB and HDD is SATA3 (6Bb/s). I have not ventured into the machine, but assume iFixit.com has guides for this kind of replacement.

In this case a screwdriver, a compatible SSD, a Windows 10 Home install or USB, Win 10 drivers, and time. Oh, you should also know what you're doing. Disclaimer: I repair and build custom computers for a living so I may talk like it's easy, but it may not be for a non-experienced user.
