“The specs say the system memory RAM is expanable to 16 GB using 2 memory slots. How much do those additional memory cards cost? I'd like to know so I can figure that cost into my purchase price. Thanks.”

Yes, 16GB is total RAM for this model, so can replace the 4GB chip with an 8GB chip to upgrade the 12GB to 16Gb. The 8GB chip is about $50. I have not found a need to do so.
