I ordered mine online, so not sure what the in the store models look like. The top (back of monitor) and the area surrounding the keys is aluminum finish. The underside (battery compartment, etc) is a dark grey plastic. The touchpad is a light grey, about the same color as aluminum but is lightly textured like an amazon kindle screen is. That sort of file folder texture. Hope that helps.
