Q: QuestionWhat type of display panel does it have? IPS or TN?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I believe the display is led ips, hard to say for sure. Only judging by the sharpness of the text and the darkness of the black display areas. TN seems to have cleaner black areas, while IPS seems to blend the black areas when viewed at certain angles. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionWhat is the speed of this I7? How many cores? Can more memory be added to graphics?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Its the regular Skylake 6500. Technically by Dell's website, this can handle 4GB DDR5 Discrete (Reference below), although the hardware sold to Bestbuy on this model may be fixed, therefore you wouldn't be able to upgrade it anyways. http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/us/en/19/inspiron-17-7778-2-in-1-laptop/inspiron-17-7778-laptop-SetupAndSpecs/Video?guid=GUID-0DD52BC2-4D0A-40CF-86D2-8D57A7AE55DE&lang=en-us

Q: QuestionCan the O/S be downgraded to Window 7 Professional? Free?
Asked by SoUknow.
- A:Answer theoretically, yes it can be downgraded. Not for free. You need to have own a Windows 7 Professional key and installation media. Essentially you have to format and reinstall using the Windows 7 Professional media. Make sure that you can get drivers for all of the devices. I would reach out to Dell for secifics about getting Windows 7 on this machine. My biggest concern would be getting the necessary drivers from Dell

Q: QuestionCan you shut off the touch screen so it behaves like a normal monitor
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes you can. however it is not as simple as just going into the settings and shutting it off. you have to mess with the device manager settings and if you are comfortable doing that then go ahead. I had to disable the screen when my Surface Pro screen got cracked. obviously its a tablet but i had a mouse and the type cover so it just functioned like a normal laptop. Right-click on the Start Menu Start. Select Device Manager. Expand the section for Human Interface Devices. Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and choose Disable. do this and you can shut off the touch screen. i've been debating on whether to just get a laptop without a touchscreen cause they can screw you over if they start glitching out but with this work around, it puts my mind at ease. Hope I was helpful.
