• More than likely you'll need some sort of an adapter. I personally went with a VGA to mini-displayport cable to cut down on adapters. The product recommended is just the adapter itself.

• You need to connect your screen data cable to your thunderbolt input, so you need to buy a data cable that matches your screen from one side and the thunderbolt on the other. Ideally you would want to connect your screen via DVI so in that case you need a Data cable that is DVI to thunderbolt. Ask your best buy prefered wise guy to find you the brand that works best with both your budget and your desired application. I attached a picture of what you will be looking for:) Good luck:)
