Check the Specs for Mixed Reality. A Intel Graphcis HD Pro can work with the Dell headset, however it will not be as "Sporty" as a GTX 10 series Graphic card. Also I discovered that Some GTX 980m cards are not compatible if they are running dual mode with a sub Intel Graphics HD Pro card.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must be running the Fall Creator Update for Windows 10, which includes the Mixed Reality Portal app. I had to update the app when I first connected the headset.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There’s a windows 10 update that downloads automatically when you connect the headset
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need the latest Windows 10 Version. There is an app called Mixed Reality Portal. That app can check your system to see if you are ready. Then you can either use Steam or the Microsoft store to get VR apps. Some are free most are not
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has to do with what hardware you have in your device. You need a pretty good video card and a decent CPU. You can do a Google search on your particular device and probably find reviews on how well it will run if at all. This particular device uses both a USB port and a HDMI port, plus the controllers use bluetooth, so your computer will need all three of these along with the needed horsepower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First you would need to know if your computer meets the minimum requirements to run VR. If it does the virtual reality program is free to download from Microsoft (make sure you install the Fall Creators Update first. Just know that just because it meets the min requirements that doesn’t mean that it will be able to run every game.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you need to install the Fall Creators Update and possibly the latest update.. I would run the verification app against your system... if it passes you should be good. However, I have found that the Dell Mixed Reality headset does not work with some 970m & 980m GPUs on laptops because it defaults to the Intel on board graphics cards instead. It goes Black screen and the Desktop app does not work. Maybe We will see a patch in the future for gtx 9 series gpus that are hybrids with intel on board gpus.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to download the Fall Creators update to make it work... if you have the Base hardware spec it will run. You can also get the Fall creator update and simply run the mixed reality app and it will tell you if you meet spec.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So for this to work on you computer, you first have to meet the hardware requirements. You need the latest Intel graphics or an Nvidia 960 or better, an HDMI port, bluetooth, and a free USB 3.0 port type a or c. If you want to use c you need an adapter. The next thing you want to do is visit this page. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028685/windows-10-get-the-fall-creators-update. Verify you have the fall creators update. If you need to download and install the update. Now you will have the mixed reality portal. You don't need a headset at this point, but you may need to configure your PC. Launch the mixed reality portal, it will start a program that check if you system is compatible. It will tell you if you have a processor, and a supported video card. If you don't, there's not much you can do to install the headset at this time. The program will also tell you if you need to update your video drivers. You can do all this prior to purchasing a headset, to determine if you can even use the headset before you purchase. After you set all this up, turn on the controllers and plug in the headset. The portal will install the drivers for the headset, pair and setup your controllers. And there you go. You'll be in the portal and put in a tutorial that teaches you how to navigate the portal. To answer your original question, you should be able to visit the fall creators site and run all those checks for free. You also won't be obligated to choose the dell headset, if you're interested in a different one.
