“If I want to grind and dose with an external grinder, can I still use this machine for tamping? Is there a setting so it doesn't attempt to use the grinder when I insert the portafilter? I know this option exists on the Maestro.”

• Yes, has a serting. Switch knob all the way to the left showing the scoop as pictured below.

• Yes you can. Turn you hand down about half way (you'll see the tamper button light up) Then put your portafilter in and tamp away. You also can click the dose button on the machine all the way to the left as well, to keep from messing up the machine. This will turn your grinder off and tamp away.
