“Would this be worth purchasing if only to drive a Samsung sound bar (HW-K950) via HDMI for sound? Right now I’m using a HDMI switch for video.”

• I don't think it would be worth the price for just a sound bar. In my opinion this unit would be overkill for just a soundbar. This is more for a whole 5.1 to 7.2 speaker setup.

• I don't see why not, although it seems like that's a bit of overkill for a sound bar :) I've certainly not regretted the purchase and when you are ready to move to a full set of 5.1 or 7.1 speakers the receiver will be happy to oblige.
