QuestionI have two in-ceiling speakers. If I wanted to use them for the Atmos feature, which speaker port would they need to be plugged into?

- Answer Surround Back Left and Right. Audyssey then lets you specify where they are located (e.g. in ceiling front, side or rear). At least that's been my experience based on the documentation and my configuration.

QuestionHas anyone used the Component RBG Monitor out on this receiver? I have an old tv with RGB Component hook ups for 1080i. I just wanted to see if anyone has used it.

  So the AVR-X2500H has the component RBG Monitor out. You will need to go IN via component in order to output via component. You will not be able to output HDMI connections via the component monitor out.

QuestionI have a Bose Lifestyle 38 III that I am trying to integrate with my new Sony Z9d TV. Geek squad told me I needed to add receiver to system in order to get optimum performance from TV. Would this unit work or can you recommend one that would best fit.

- Answer We recently bought a new LG 4K TV and our old receiver wasn’t compatible so we purchased the Denom receiver which is compatible to our new TV. So far we have had no problems and we love our picture quality. I would recommend the Denon Receiver. I hope this helps you with your decision.

- Answer Yes - the AVR-S940H is rated to drive 4 ohm speakers. The manual goes into detail as to what settings you need to change if your are using 4 or 6 ohm speakers - but the receiver will handle them.

QuestionCan this amp also do 5.1 surround sound if you don't want to hook up 7 speakers? What is the impedence reading for speakers for this amp?

- Answer Yes, mine is 5.1 and it works great using "DTS Virtual:X® creating three-dimensional effects without height speakers. Mine are 8 ohms.

  Unfortunately, the AVR-S940H is not capable of wireless HEOS surround speakers. The HEOS AVR and the HEOS BAR are the only HEOS devices capable of wireless surround sound.   The AVR-S940H AV receiver supports 3D video pass-through (720p/1080p only) from connected 3D-compatible Blu-ray, games and broadcast devices to 3D-compatible HDTVs (all 3D components must be connected via HDMI).

QuestionI am interested in this receiver and it states that the AMP is listed at 185 watt at 6 ohm. The speakers im interested in are 8 ohm speaker RP-8060FA Klipsch. What do i do to make these compatible.

QuestionSo my unit is a Denon AVE-S940H and your sight keeps sending me to the AVR-1295W, but anyway, when I try to put it on the game source I can hear the sound but no picture comes up and the PCM/DIG. keep taking the sound in and out.

- Answer To what I've been able to figure out, no. There is only one HDMI out and I don't know of a way to split it off and be able to do simultaneous broadcast.

- Answer Not sure about subwoofer, but yes. You have to go into settings and separate the back speakers from the 7.2 surround.

QuestionI My old denon had a and b speaker terminals while this new one does not. Is it possible to hook both pairs into the a section without damaging the unit? Both sets are Boston's at 8 ohms.. thanks

- Answer Denon claims the power amps are safe with 4 ohm loads but you have other options depending on what your trying to do. This receiver has 7 channels of powered outputs that can be configured various ways. The easiest, if your just interested in stereo, is to attach your second set of speakers as either the rear or zone 2 set and then play your music in multi channel stereo mode or on both main and zone 2.

- Answer The AVR-S940H doesn't have pre-outs for any of the main channels. You have to look at the AVR-X3500H or higher for pre-outs to connect external power amps. The two connectors on this unit are only to connect powered subwoofers or power amps for passive subwoofers.

QuestionI am wanting to mount a TV to the wall but have a drop down screen for my projector. Do both of the HDMI outputs do 4K or just one of the outputs?

- Answer Both HDMI outputs are 4K but only the Monitor1 connector supports ARC if you need it. If your TV and Projector aren't both the same resolution the auto(dual) setting will pick the highest common format for both. ie: if your projector is 1080p and your TV is 4k you'll only get 1080p on the TV. You would have to manually switch which output is active to drive one of the other at it's native resolution.
