I’m thinking it will because in my research what works with GoPro 5 usually works with GoPro 6 & 7 These three (3) cameras seem to be built on the same format. When the GoPro 8 was introduced they changed something in their formats. I will know after Christmas because I’m getting three (3) of these batteries for my GoPro 6 but I also own the GoPro 5 and GoPro 7. I’ll try it in the GoPro 7 on Christmas Day. I sure hope this helps you.

No, this camera has a built in battery, you would simply need to get a charger for it.
