• yes you can. the video review online for this model shows a solar panel charging this unit thru the 12 volt cigarette plug. i will look for the appropriate 30-60 solar panel. its best to trickle charge a lead acid battery. a quick charge will shorten the life of this battery.

• The built-in charger is for 120VAC use only. The unit has a cigarette-lighter outlet which is connected directly to the 12V battery, so it could be used to charge the battery from a 12V source.
