• this is an extension cord. only connects to the power cord from your tv. not to the tv itself.

• I just plug the tv power cord into the extension cord.

• This cord (as i found out) does not fit the socket on the back of most new flatscreens.

• You would have to connect your TV's power cord into the other end of this extension cord, and then plug the extension's cord into the wall outlet
