“network compatibility? i want to connect my old Seagate Momentus 5400.6 320GB SATA hard drive(its a 2.5 inch i believe.the hard drive came from my old HP laptop) to my Belkin N600 wireless router as a network drive.the router has a single USB 2.0 connection designed for this purpose.i want to make sure it will operate properly prior to buying and installing on my network.also is this available in store?as in in stock?”

Should work fine. USB 3.0 is backwards compatible so you should be able to use the included cable with no issues. Plus, the enclosure is powered via the data cable.

I haven't tried with my router, but should be ok, the routers should read it the same as if a computer were reading it. Are you sure your drive is SATA? My old HP has a PATA drive, in which case this would not work. Either way, just bring your drive in to the store and have an employee pull this enclosure out of the box and try it with your drive.
