Even I got the same cable in a plastic bag. I think it is normal for this brand.

I bought a Dynex 3 foot HDMI cable at the Best Buy in DeKalb, IL. It came in a clear plastic bag with a Dynex label on it. The cable is working well. If you got the same thing I got, what you got is legitimate.
