As far as I know (and I'm hardly a techie) -- the HUB is not designed to charge a device; it only relays the device's signal to the computer. You're asking it to provide a function it wasn't designed for, unfortunately.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Dynex 7-Port USB unit is NOT a charging unit, it is a multi-port USB unit. It will NOT supply charging power to hardware such as phones, portable HD radios, MP3 players, bluetooth devices, etc. It must be plugged in to a laptop or desktop for any charging to take place. Charging units still involve logic and programming. The port is simply a port and nothing else. Splitting a computer's volts and amps with only a USB connection to a multi-port unit causes inconsistent power to devices. This is why the Dynex 7-Port Powered USB unit has external power. If an associate told you this would work as a charging station without connection to a computer, they were badly mistaken.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It charges without connecting to a computer. It may be slow. Watch the blue led. If it is not steady, then the power supply could be bad
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm afraid that is true. A USB 2.0 hub must be connected to a computer and the wall to charge devices.
