Good Unit but Fragile Power Cord Connection

I needed additional USB ports that were easy to access for my iMac, and wanted a powered unit for no power issues. The Dynex 7-port powered unit was perfect in size, price, compatibility, and number of ports. The ONLY downside is that the micro USB power plug does not fit tightly. This means that when plugging or unplugging USB cords into the front of the unit, the power cord into the adapter easily disconnects from the back of the unit. I now have a habit of always checking the power into the adapter. The unit works great -- as long as there is power!

Been using two of these. They seem to perform well. No problems yet. Adequate size to allow room to plug in devices without it getting cramped. But the hub itself isn't too large either.

This DYNEX 7-port USB 2.0 hub provides easy expansion for any system that is short on ports. No more juggling which add-ons to use; no hot-swapping of one device for another due to lack of plug-in slots.
The only drawback to the unit is for those devices needing a power source -- these must still be connected to the computer proper; this little box doesn't have the juice to power a device by itself -- it can only relay the signal. That said, it is a MINOR inconvenience.
This little box was inexpensive, easy to set-up and works like an invisible maestro, co-ordinating all your devices discreetly and easily.
GET ONE if you're in need.

I needed a powered USB hub to start dabbling with Raspberry Pi. I have a wifi dongle, logitech webcam, keyboard, mouse, and the Pi's power input attached to the hub, and it's able to power them all. It's reliable, about the same size as the Pi (in a case). So excited to finally start using this Pi that I've had for over a year now!

This product just did the job it suppose to be. It is easy to set up, just plug and play. Everything works , no surprise. Minor inconvenience is it required a power supply but this is a common true for most good usb hubs.

This powered USB switch works great. It has no issues with anything we have plugged in to it from USB flash drives, external hard drives, external DVD drives, keyboards, and mice.

Simple USB 2.0 Hub

Very simple hub. I use it at work to keep the USB 3.0 ports free. No speed change, from what I can see. Transfers are very quick regardless of USB drive and whether I am transferring from or to the drives. As for the port distance, I have drives of various shapes. So if the drives are too thick, I may only be able to use 3 or 4 out of the 7 ports. Decent price at the time, of course the price dropped after the price matching period ended for me. The hub will be stationary and off when not in use, but due to the distance to the power plug, the power adapter will be plugged in 24/7. Time will tell if it will last.

After buying several powered USB hubs and all of them did not have enough power to use USB hard drives. I didn't think this one would either but I needed a powered hub ASAP. Plugged it in, connected to PC and connected 2 USB portable hard drives (1TB each) and all the drives worked!

I bought this USB hub to make a charging station for my night stand. I have had my Kindle, Kindle Fire, Galaxy tablet, iPod, FitBit and phone all plugged into it at once and they all charged. The charging is a bit slow, but I leave the devices plugged in over night and by morning I can use them all over again. I have only used it for charging, so I don't know how it deals with data. But if you are a crafty person looking to make a charging station this little guy is great!

Overall this is an excellent USB 3.0 hub. I have 3 3TB External Drives, 1 750GB External Drive, and 1 500GB External Drive connected to it and transferring files from the desktop to any of the devices is very fast! No problem transferring files from desktop to multiple external drives at the same time either.
Only problem I have is USB 3.0 cables are stiff and there is no mounting plate included so the cables make it difficult to keep the hub on the desk.

After losing my power supply and mother board on the desktop I ended up needing 8 USB inputs and have only 4. Normally have 2 printers, 4 external drives and 8 memory sticks so this looked like a solution. The powered USB hub works well most of the time but fails to recognize different input some of the time otherwise does a great job. A restart corrects the problem.
