• Yes, but you would need to cut-out with scissors. I suspect it would not last as long if you did this, but just buy another when it wears out!

• You can. But you need to purchase one specifically made for that. Then it alters how a case fits, unless you’re only using a bumper case, which on an iPhone X/XS is a bad idea since the back is all glass.
