As of 2008, the FAA no longer permits larger (over 2g) lithium batteries in checked baggage. This is due to the increased risk of explosion or other malfunction. Smaller, consumer grade electronics powered by lithium batteries are safe and permissible for use. This product falls under those guidelines and can be taken on a plane.
