“Could not get the battery to charge correctly and was told to make sure the empty bin was properly closed. That worked. But now it will not hold a charge for longer than 6-7 mins. and today I cannot get the charge to work at all.What to do????”

This vacuum has no battery. It's corded, pretty interesting you added a battery.
