• Hello CJ, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Cinetic Big Ball Total Clean can be used on both carpeting, and hardwood floors. While it does feature a spinning brush bar in the cleaner head, the brush bar can be disabled, so that you're just vacuuming with suction power on your bare floor surfaces. • This vacuum can absolutely be used on both hardwood floors and carpet. There is an easy button to press for carpet use. Amazing machine. Great power. The expansion hose reaches from my first level, to the last step of my staircase. Highly recommended!

• Yes, there is a button that will turn the brush head off so it can be used on wood floors
