Q: QuestionI have a question about how the air flow is generated. The air seems to come from the small slit in the oval portion of the machine. However, I only feel air on the sides of the slit, and not the top or bottom. Is this normal?
Asked by Freezer.
- A:Answer Yes, this is normal. If you look closely at your unit you can see that there are no air passages at the top and bottom of the oval (the curved parts). The "slits" are dark the whole way around giving the impression that it is all the same, but the top and bottom are filled in. All the air comes from the two sides.

Q: QuestionHi, does this item help with dog long hair allergies? Thank you so much in advance
Asked by Kat.
- A:Answer Hello Kat, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans have been designed to deliver a powerful stream of cooling or heated, purified air from the front of the machine. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool units will also offer the option to divert air through the rear annular at a 45˚ angle, creating a more diffused airflow. Also, thanks to the 350 degree oscillation, Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans can be used to help project purified air around the whole room and may be used to deliver heated and purified air to every corner of the room. Airflow angles can also be customized using the remote control or Dyson Link app. You will also have the option of a Night mode which will use the machines quieter settings, reducing airflow speeds to range from 1 to 4. Night mode will also dim the display and the machine will run more quietly, making it ideal for use while sleeping. I'm also happy to share that you may customize Night mode settings in the Dyson Link App. This purifier will remove a range of contaminants from the air. It purifies to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the home. It also removes pollen, pet dander and odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking smells. It does work very well in homes with pet allergies. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionIs it work with 220W?
Asked by josh.
- A:Answer Hello Josh, This is Miella from Dyson. This machine is not multi-voltage and only fits 110-120v. We do not recommend using outside that voltage or on a converter, as this will cause power/motor issues and is not covered under warranty. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionTo verify, I can set the temperature I want and this fan will automatically keep the room at that temperature? I live in Texas&work nights, so it gets really hot when I am trying to sleep, I need a really good fan that will keep 1 room very cool.
Asked by Morgan.
- A:Answer Hello Morgan, this is Kelly with Dyson. You are absolutely correct with regard to the heating function in the Dyson HP04. When you set the unit to 72 degrees, for example, it will keep the machine blowing heated air, until your room temperature hits 72 degrees. Once that occurs, the machine will still be on, but won't be blowing heated air. If the room temperature falls below the target temp you've set, it will begin to blow that heated air again. Q: QuestionHow much will my electricity bill go up? Does the heater use more watts versus just using the cooling fan? Thanks
Asked by Baller.
- A:Answer I’ve been using this fan pretty much 24/7 at 72 degrees with the auto off function kicking in every now and then since the start of my current billing cycle. It’s now the end of my billing cycle and my electric bill has gone up by $200. This was the only consumption related change so YMMV.

Q: QuestionDoes this work OK with a cool mist humidifier in the same room? Or I need to use either of them at one time, please clarify.
Asked by Bahu.
- A:Answer Hello Bahu, this is Kelly with Dyson. We generally do not recommend to use a purifier and a humidifier in the same room; the water/mist from the humidifier can cause false air quality readings on your purifier. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionWhy is it when i put my dyson on auto it just turns off?
Asked by Milo.
- A:Answer Hello Milo, this is Kelly with Dyson. When using Auto mode, if you have your air quality target, or temperature target set to a certain level, and your machine reaches that level, it will stop blowing air. The machine itself stays on, to monitor the air quality and temperature. If either dip below the level you've set, you'll begin to notice the flow of air again through the loop. Q: QuestionHow hot does the HP04 get in the back? How close can it be safely placed to a wall?
Asked by Susan.
- A:Answer Hi Susan, this is Kelly with Dyson. When deciding where to place your Dyson Hot + Cool air purifier heater and fan, you'll want to keep it 3 ft. away (front, read and sides) from curtains, clothes, furniture, pillows, bedding, papers or anything else combustible. Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson HP04 Hot + Cool as well as all of our other air purifier machines will come with an included remote control. The remotes are curved, and magnetized, and store on the top loop of each unit. None of the machines we currently offer have the ability to dehumidify the air. Q: QuestionDoes this model have an automatic temperature setting?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello, This is Miella from Dyson. This machine is a cooling fan and space heater. The fan's temperature cannot be adjusted as it is not an air conditioning unit but while in the heat mode, you can schedule the machine to adjust the target heating temperature. In manual mode, you set the target heating temperature and the machine works to get the space to that target. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionWhat is the lowest temperature it gets to?
Asked by Lalagoogoo.
- A:Answer Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool functions as a fan, heater and purifier, all in one unit. Our air multiplier line, unlike an AC unit that is designed to chill the air, consists of blade-less fans. The air temperature does not change, it is the air flow which cools the user. Each of the machines have the option of increasing the speed of the air expelled from the machine, which is adjusted with the remote control. While in heat mode, you can adjust the temperature, but you can only adjust the fan speed when using the fan in cool mode. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionWhy does the Dyson HP04 not meet California air cleaner regulation requirements and is there a Dyson Air Purifier model that meets these requirements?
Asked by Mag.
This question was asked about the related product: Dyson - HP04 Pure Hot + Cool Smart Tower Air Purifier, Heater and Fan - White/Silver
- A:Answer Hi Mag, this is Kelly with Dyson. Great question! Any machine that was not manufactured in California wouldn't be subject to the regulation, and as such, we do need to display this, as the units don't get certified/tested as ones manufactured in California would.
