  • QuestionDeep cleaning stop every 10 sec and doesn't start for a while and start again for 10 sec... repeat. It takes for ever. What's wrong?

    Asked by Aloha.

    • Answer I had this same problem so I called Dyson and was able to troubleshoot with them. What worked for me was to check that the six connectors on the inside of the pump assembly were dry, then remove the screen from the very bottom of the pump, this will allow the internal plunger to release (its a plastic piece with a plastic radio-antenna-like poker going up into the pump) rinse both the filter screen and the plunger, reassemble and it works! I had the same problem again today and I had to take out, rinse, and reassemble those pieces twice to get things moving. Once everything is working properly you will see a slow drip inside the black plastic cage of the humidifier that circulates back into the water tank; that’s how you know it’s cycling properly. Hope this helps someone else out there!

  • QuestionWhat type of humidifier is this new one? Ultrasonic or Evaporative?

    Asked by Fanfan.

    • Answer From the Dyson Website - this unit "uses Dyson’s advanced evaporative technology. Water is placed onto a biostatic woven mesh evaporator and air is used to convert that water into water vapor so fine that it is invisible. This also means it can’t carry particles or bacteria with it, providing a healthier environment."

  • QuestionMay be a silly question, but is this unit parrot safe in meaning does it use any type of heated teflon that could be dangerous to the bird? Thanks!

    Asked by Mike.

    • Answer Hi Mike, this is Kelly with Dyson. Not a silly question at all; we hear this one often. The only Dyson product that does contain Teflon, is the Supersonic hair dryer. Our current Hot + Cool EC products (AM09, HP01, HP02, HP04) do not contain PTFE as part of the heating element. The PH01 Pure Humidify + Cool does not produce heat, so there would be no teflon or any danger to any type of pet. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionCan this be used as a fan with the humidity off, during the summer time?

    Asked by Bobjansen63.

    • Answer Yes it can. The item can be set to auto air purifier and auto humidifier. It also can be set to a certain level instead of auto. Or you can turn off both humidifier and air purifier and just use as a fan. However, when using the humidifier the fan will need to be on a minimum level for it to work properly.

  • QuestionIs the humidifier/ air purifier of this brand parakeet safe?

    Asked by Pepe.

    • Answer Hi Pepe, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our Supersonic hair dryer contains PTFE and Teflon which are the chemical elements that make those unsafe for birds. The PH01 Pure Humidify + Cool doesn't have any type of heating element, so this machine would not contain that, therefore being safe for your bird. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionI wonder if there will be mist on the ph01 when humiidifier is used? I tested mine but i didn’t notice any mist.

    Asked by Jani.

    • Answer I've been using mine since 3/29/21, and have not seen any. I don't think these models perform the same way like other humidifiers I had in the past which creates that constant mist. I have an external device that monitors humidity in my bedroom and it matches up with the Dyson so at least I know it is working at least.

  • QuestionHow often do I use the citric acid & deep clean cycle?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer The frequency of needing to do a deep clean cycle will depend upon the hardness of the water in your area and the normal ambient humidity levels. So, it is difficult to give an exact answer. For example, if you used distilled water (not recommended, too expensive) there would be very little mineral buildup and deep cleaning would not be needed.

  • QuestionCan it make a room cooler during summer? Like a air condition?

    Asked by Sally.

    • Answer It’s not an air conditioner(does not have a condenser like a fridge or a window unit); it behaves more like a fan. However the the humidifier may make the the room feel cooler than other rooms due to the added moisture and air circulation it provides.

  • QuestionCan you shout off the humidifier function for the summer?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there, this is a great question! You can use the machine, without humidification. You can disable that and just the machine just as a regular purifier fan. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionWhat is the Dust and Smoke CADR ratings for the Dyson - PH01 Humidifier + Cool?

    Asked by Ami.

    • Answer Hello Ami, this is Kelly with Dyson. CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. This is the volume of filtered air delivered by a purifier in a given time frame. This measurement does not represent the quality of the air leaving the unit, only how much. For this reason we feel that it is largely irrelevant. This does not in any way represent a machine's ability to effectively mix the purified air with the ambient air in the room. CADR testing is performed in an empty room, with a ceiling fan simulating air movement - this is not indicative of the live environment our products are used in. Our product has a lower CADR – but actually projects the air much further than other products, features better filtration, and more effectively mixes the air in the room Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionI am looking for a machine that will capture dust, lint, dirt and other things that animals bring, especially cat hair. Will this collect it? Is the water the filter, like the way a rainbow vacum is and then you empty it out?

    Asked by dyson.

    • Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The PH01 Pure Humidify+Cool is ideal for larger spaces, and it purifies, humidifies and cools the air around you. The filtration helps to automatically sense and capture allergens, pollutants and gases. It purifies to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the home. It also removes pollen, pet dander and odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking smells. The purifiers, however, will not collect or trap pet hair. Best Wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionWhat is square footage (room size) will one machine cover?

    Asked by EmptyPage.

    • Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Humidifier + Cool will clean the air in any size room. The bigger the room, the longer the machine will take to purify it as there is more air in the room. In a room of 139ft², the purifier will purify the room in 27 minutes. In a smaller room, it will take less time to purify the air; in a bigger room, it will take longer to purify the air. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

  • QuestionIf the humidifier is not an ultrasonic one, do we need to worry about the mineral in water? Will the mineral still be spread into air?

    Asked by Tong.

    • Answer Hello Tong, this is Kelly with Dyson. Great question, but no. To ensure hygienic humidification, we have an airmesh evaporator with our unique technology column in the tank. Inside this column is our PTFE tube which reflects 95% of UV-C light. As water passes through this tube, the UV-C light emitted kills 99.9% of bacteria in the water. • QuestionDoes the humidifier shut when the water empties completely

    Asked by Jai.

    • Answer The fan will continue to run providing some passive air filtering when the water tank is empty but since there is no water, it cannot add humidity to the air. When the tank is empty and you try to turn on the humidity, you are notified that water needs to be added. Also, the smart phone app will notify you that water is needed.
