Hi there! Thank you for your interest in the Dyson cordless. The V8 is newer with more suction power at 115 air watts while the V6 has 100. The battery life is also longer on the V8. It will get 7 minutes in MAX mode. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. The V6 will get 20 minutes in standard mode and 6 in MAX. The V8 also features a new bin eject feature and easy quick release system for attachments. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service
