QuestionIs there an option to turn off the beater bar? I have floor rugs that can't be vacoomed with a beater bar.

- Answer Hi Milly, This is Carissa with Dyson. The brush bar does not turn off on the cordless units. We would recommend the Articulating Hard Floor tool for the rugs.

- Answer This one has the carpet attachment the bare floor attachment and the upholstery attachment all of them are motorized plus it comes with 3 other attachments like duster and crevice tool.

- Answer Electrical input range for this device is 100-240V and 50/60Hz. You can use it with European power sources.

- Answer Hi there! Thank you for your interest in the Dyson cordless. The V8 is newer with more suction power at 115 air watts while the V6 has 100. The battery life is also longer on the V8. It will get 7 minutes in MAX mode. 25 minutes in standard mode with the motorized cleaner head attached and 30 minutes with the soft roller cleanerhead or mini motorized tool attached. 40 minutes for any other tool. The V6 will get 20 minutes in standard mode and 6 in MAX. The V8 also features a new bin eject feature and easy quick release system for attachments. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service

QuestionI purchased from Best Buy a dyson "stick vacuum" two years ago, uncertain of model. I have used it only twice. It is incredibly annoying that the on button must be held while using. Is this the same with all Dyson battery models?

QuestionWe have the standard V6 and two long haired Shelties. The hair wraps around the motor/brush connection and basically makes this unusable. There is no way to fix it without disassembling the whole head. Does this model have the same issue??

- Answer The vacume is doing what all brushed vacuumed will do. The brushes are gonna trap the hair. No solution. I'd think about a irobot because they used rubber paddles to agggitate the floor. Might work better. Or you could always get other dogs. ;)

- Answer After speaking with Dyson Support, (when trying to determine Battery-Pack Charger), they informed me, that there are two (2) Versions of v6 Cordless Vacuums; the Original v6 (approximately 2-3 years ago, and the more recent, current v6 Models.. The "Original/Legacy" v6 Model was slightly less powerful, both in suction and battery-life. The Current v6 Models (Animal/Absolute/Total-Clean) all utilize the same Motor-Head, Battery, and Attachments.. Basically, "parts" are compatible/inter-changeable between Original/Legacy v6 Vacuums; and "parts" are compatible between the current v6 Vacuums. However, "Legacy-Model Parts" are NOT compatible with "Current-Model Vacuums." (DC-31/34/35/44 vs. DC-58/59/61/62)..

- Answer Hi Iris! The difference between these two is the power of the brush roll. The both have HEPA filtration post-motor. However, the brush roll power is different. On the v6 HEPA, it has a non-motorized brush roll that collects less debris from carpet. One the Total Clean, it has motorized brushes that clean better on tile & carpet. Hope this helps!

- Answer In my opinion it does work better on hardwoods. But it would not be worth buying the entire vacuum for that head.

- Answer Hello! This is Miella from Dyson. The V6 Total Clean does sport HEPA filrtration, and a HEPA filter. The Total Clean comes with an additional cleanerhead, and more tools, than the Animal. Hope this helps! Miella Dyson Customer Service
