- Answer I just bought the V8 Animal and it works unbelievable on cat hair. Not sure of the models you noted. I used mine on carpet and bare floor and it worked great there also.

QuestionIs there a head on the V8 I can use on BOTH hardwood and carpet, so I wouldn't have to switch heads?

- Answer for me the biggest head with the long tube is good enough to clean both the hardwood and carpet, the kitchen floor of our apartment is hardwood, and the living room is carpet, we don't need to switch those heads, just use that long tube one.

- Answer YES, I think you are referring to the mini motorized head. Besides the basic vac setup pictured, it also comes with a mini motorized head, two crevice tools (one with sliding brush), a dusting brush that's good for dusting ceiling fan blades, etc., and a wall mount charge station. Hope this answers your question. Dyson does a poor job of demonstrating what is in the box, but I was satisfied with the product.

QuestionWhich option (V6 or V8) gives you access to ALL filters so you can clean the vacuum thoroughly when it starts to smell (and with two dogs it DOES smell). I know the V6 has a filter inside the motor housing, but access would void the warranty.

- Answer I got the eight for that exact reason and have been super happy with the results. I have not even needed to clean the inner filter yet (which is extremely easy to get to) and my dogs shed like crazy. I have used it for a month and have nothing but good things to say.

QuestionWhy does my vacuum shut off while I'm vacuuming, and it is showing that it still has over half a battery power left? If I plug it back in to the charger it will work for a few seconds then off it goes again.

QuestionCan you keep this on battery charger 24/ 7so it is ready to go whenever needed or do you have to recharge when battery runs down. I used it the first time and worked like a charm but then after a few months it only last 1/2 the time???
