  • QuestionHow long will the rechargeable batteries last before you have to buy new hearing aids? Are the batteries replaceable?

    Asked by Steve.

    • Answer Hello. All Eargo hearing aids last approximately 3 years. The rechargeable batteries in the hearing aids don't just stop working, instead they simply don't hold a charge for the full 16 hours as they did when new. The batteries are integrated into the complex build of the hearing aids and are not replaceable. In comparison, traditional completely-in-the-canal hearing aids purchased at conventional retailers can cost almost twice as much for a pair and last about the same length of time.

  • QuestionWill the Eargo 5 stream music and phone calls? Thanks.

    Asked by BadNews.

    • Answer Because of the virtually invisible size of Eargo hearing aids, there is no room to place a Bluetooth receiver inside. Also, Bluetooth information would not receive a signal because the ear canal is surrounded by bone and fluid of the canal. This being said, Eargo does have a Bluetooth receiver in their charger which syncs to the Eargo app allowing you to personalize the settings of the hearing aids. A large number of Eargo customers who felt they needed streaming of music and phone calls realize after using them during the trial period that their perceived need is not as great as they thought. Best Buy provides a 60-day trial period to purchase Eargo and use it in your everyday listening situations to determine if it's the right hearing aid for you. And Eargo's support from their hearing professionals during this trial period ensures you'll optimize your use.

  • QuestionCan I use these as Bluetooth headphones?

    Asked by Spawn.

    • Answer Eargo hearing aids do not have Bluetooth streaming capabilities due to the virtually invisible size to house a Bluetooth receiver. They function as a FDA exempt class 2 hearing aid first and foremost.

  • Questionis it good for profound hearing loss

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer I do not think so. I have moderate hearing loss in my left ear. The Eargo hearing aid helps to hear better, but does not bring up the hearing to that of the normal right ear. I think profound hearing loss would not be helped much with Eargo.
