Yes, it is a marvelous vacuum that will pick up your dog hair. The container seems small in comparison to a regular size vacuum cleaner, but if you use it daily then you will notice there is less and less hair and dirt in the container because it keeps you house much cleaner. Yes, it removable and you need to clean it out after each use, which is no problem.
