Q: How long till the battery needs replacement?
A: I'm coming up on 10 months and after having to have a replacement battery early on, battery life is going strong, but only 8 months since the replacement battery, so I can only speak for that timeline. It's running for about 1-1/2 hours, which is plenty of time for a great cleaning..

Q: Does is mop?
A: No, it only sweeps bare floors. It's GREAT at that task. If you want something that mops, look at a SLIM, or for carpet AND bare floors AND mopping, there's the DM85 too!
Q: Does this work well on pet hair? How big is the filter? Is it removable?
A: Yes, it is a marvelous vacuum that will pick up your dog hair. The container seems small in comparison to a regular size vacuum cleaner, but if you use it daily then you will notice there is less and less hair and dirt in the container because it keeps you house much cleaner. Yes, it removable and you need to clean it out after each use, which is no problem.
A: When it beeps like that you probably have it turned to the off position while charging it. You must keep it on the on position to charge. Hope that does the trick.
Q: Does it cross over threshold pieces on a laminate floor between rooms where they exist? Thank you.
A: It does. Mine tries to get onto the carpet and I have to put a towel in the way to keep it from getting to the carpet.
