“Can this capture gameplay on the PC it is installed on? Currently, I have the DP cord connecting the graphics card to the monitor. Will I need to connect a HDMI cord to the capture card and the monitor instead?”

If you are trying to capture video and audio from the pc you are playing on I reccomend using OBS software as you don’t have to even use a capture card. You can capture gameplay and audio in the software with no additional hardware. This is for a dual pc setup or capturing from a console to pc

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wouldn't it be better to just screen record with screen capture software? Unless you have a second computer to play on, the capture card is pointless if your recording content on the same device as a second monitor.
