• This item is for HOT items. Also, while it is not the recommendation of the manufacturer, my husband makes his tea from tap water. Just realize that it will take more battery life to steep the tea, and your hot tea will be held at your desired temperature for a shorter period of time. BYT, my husband LOVES his mug so much that he bought me one and I LOVE it too.
