I don't believe there is a way to boot in HDMI mode. There is a workaround though. The Home Mode is just a Chromecast dongle plugged into an HDMI input hidden in the machine behind a plastic cover on the back, you can see a diagram in the users manual on page 93 or 94. If you remove the dongle you can plug your desired HDMI cord into the 'Home' jack.
