QuestionWhat is the maximum size I can blow up a photo that is 4” x 6”?

- Answer Hi Vskater, The optical resolution of the Perfection V39 is 4800 x 4800 dpi, so a 4" x 6" photo will result in an image that is a total of 19,200 dpi x 28,800 dpi. If you print the scan at this size you can easily get a clear image at 8" x 10" or 8.5" x 11". With the interpolation built into the scanner, you can expect to print a decent 24" x 36" image. QuestionAbout how long to scan at 1200 DPI?

- Answer At 1200dpi I measured 102 seconds to scan, then another 12 seconds for the element to return to home. Times may increase due to your computer's ability to receive the data. Some some strange reason, scanning at 300dpi, my desktop computer saw the scanner start and stop all the way down the page, causing the scan time to be twice as slow as it should be. My notebook computer handles it at full speed.

- Answer Hi Historian, The Perfection V39 is a photo scanner. It is not designed for speed as much as photo quality. You can reduce the resolution on your scans to minimize the processing time. This will result in more speed. If you do not need a flatbed and can use a sheet-fed document scanner, you can achieve up to a second per scan.
