QuestionUsing the Epson v600 to digitize 35mm slides When displaying on computer they only appear about 4x6 inches If I try to enlarge them the quality degraded and they appear pixilated What is the maximum print size I could expect when using the v600

- Answer Not sure what dpi you're using. If you didn't change this you'll need to increase the dpi. 35mm negatives will need a much higher dpi than scanning regular prints. You can find videos and help on how to change this in the settings menu if you need it. Google "35mm negatives dpi epson v600". Not sure how big a print you can get using a higher/highest dpi on a 35mm negative though.

QuestionI have a MacBook Pro using High Sierra OS 10.13.6. Will I need to download any software from Epson to have the scanner work to its maximum or does the scanner come fully loaded for this OS? Does ICE work with OS 10.13.6?

- Answer Hi jimh, You can download Mac OS X 11 drivers for the V600 from the Epson support site. If you want to scan multiple photos as separate files, you must use the Epson Scan 2 driver rather than Mac 's built in ICA scanner driver. When you place the photos on the scan bed separate them by .8". Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

- Answer Hi NC, In an apples to apples comparison, using the same settings and computer, the V600 is faster than the V39. If speed is a concern, please consider an Epson sheet-fed document scanner. QuestionMY operating system is Mac OS Big Sur, 11.0.1. Is this supported by any of your scanners? I currently have a V500 which will no longer connect with my computer. I really don't want to buy a new scanner but will if I have to.

- Answer I'm running 11.4 and am in the process of returning a v600. It just wouldn't connect. I think Epson neglects their mac people with their software. I returned a v19 that produced vastly superior scans to a canon lide 400, but every time I tried to use it I had to restart my computer to get it to connect. The v600 wouldn't connect at all.

QuestionA lot of mixed reviews on the compatibility of this scanner and the V39 working with MacOS Catalina. Has Epson updated the software for the user as of 2021? Other than it not being compatible with Digital ICE, is there anything else to be aware of?

QuestionI have bunch of 1950 era stereoscopic slides, all kodak mounted. which photo scanner will either accept or flatscan these mounted double slides. ( I only need to copy one of the two slides). would Epson V600 work?

- Answer The software splits each slide, or frame from a negative film strip, into individual images and saves them. It does reverse the negative so you get a color positive picture. Just pick the image you want and print it.

QuestionI have about 50-75 2.5" x 4.25" negatives. Will the "Epson - Perfection V600 Photo Scanner - Black" accommodate this size? They are from the 1920s-1950s.

- Answer The large format holder is designed for 60 mm film (around 2 3/8 inches). 2.5 inches would be too wide to fit between the guide rails. The rails are about 1 mm tall. I don't know what would happen if you tried to lay your negative on top of the guide rails. (For example, would the software "see" the negative and allow for scanning; would the negative be in focus?)
