I've only had this projector for a week and a half, but I've used it for up to five hours and have had no issues with overheating or shutting off.

Here's an answer to your question from: https://epson.com/faq/SPT_V11H838220~faq-0000876-ex3260_vs355 "The projector enters sleep mode only if it does not receive a signal for the period of time specified in the Sleep Mode Timer setting. If a computer is connected and turned on, a signal is present and the projector will not go into sleep mode."
