“Is this scanner compatible with a Mac OS X version 10.11.6? Does this scanner come with an install CD for Mac? Not interested in getting a scanner that requires me to go to a website and download install drives. If not, please recommend one that has it.”

if you are counting on a CD for the latest software updates, you're expecting too much. By the time a product gets through the channels, to the store, and ultimately to the end consumer, there had BETTER be updates. I'm not trying to help you find a scanner, that's on you, but this one is great!!
