Mike, Yes, you can scan baseball cards. And yes, the scanner will scan both the front and back simultaneously. I purchased my scanner about 2 months ago and I have been using the Covid-19 downtime to scan ALL of my old publications, etc. So far, I have scanned more than 30,000 pages! This scanner is so awesome and fast you won't believe it. I have scanned anything and everything.... business cards, receipts, magazines, etc. The Epson software is super easy to use. The main program has only two buttons... Scan One Side or Scan Both Sides. It is really fast. More than 1 page per second. And, another great feature is if there is a mis-feed or a double feed the software stops and warns you. You then fix the problem and click continue. You don't need to start over. My previous scanner was a Xerox and this one blows it away. For me, this was a great purchase. Good luck.
