• Hi Tyleete, The whiteness of a scanned background can be adjusted in the software included with the WorkForce Pro WF-7840. Regarding third-party ink, the WF-7840 is designed for Epson cartridges only. Other brands of ink supplies are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

• We haven't used the flatbed yet, but the the sheet feeder appears to keep the bg white when scanning. The manual specifically states using aftermarket print cartridges will cause problems. Quite frankly, it's a crap shoot, some may work and others may not.
