In MS Word, you can change document paper types/sizes within the word processing program, much as you would put columns, page breaks, etc. This will allow you to tell the printer page size in the print order. I keep the two trays loaded with legal and letter and have had no problem with the printer working from two trays for a mixed size original. Just look for the "layout" option in the task bar then select size and choose from this point forward. When you want to go back to the original size within the same document, just do the same thing again. Key is making sure you choose the from this point forward option.
