You cannot download updates to the Passport X50. You will have to send it to the manufacturer, Escort Inc, for this service. Only Escort radar detectors with a USB port can connect to a home computer and be updated. These are the Passport Max, Passport 9500ix, Passport iQ and Passport 8500ci Plus.
