Passport radar/laser detector has great range and is very reliable. I like the options this radar detector has. The mute button is also a nice feature when needed.

Not a alot of extra bells and whistles by today's standards, but where it matters most, range and sensitivity, this is an excellent unit, well worth the money.

This is the best one you can buy. It really dose it job as both a radar and laser detector. Has a great range and it is user friendly.

This is the best radar detector I have ever owned and I have had one in my vehicle for around 22 years. Picks up from unbelievable distances and have Very low false alarms. If it starts to go off...Slow Down!!

Looks like this has paid itself back. Initially started with the Cobra 7800, which was not really so great with all the false alarms. This escort paid back itself when it alerted me of cop in a very unusual spot on ma route to work. It happened the next morning of my purchase. So far looks good and happy with the investment, though a lil extra but lets see how it works out.

The price is fair! It has also saved me several tickets! I have also received a couple of tickets while using it! I feel like when I have the radar on I am always speeding! But overall good product! Just to prepare you it does not come with the live cord! So the radar is not compatible with your phone until you buy the live cord for an extra $100!

Bought this to replace an 'el cheapo' unit i'd picked up years ago, and have been pleased with its performance. I put it to work immediately on a 3 state road trip and it proved reliable, always letting me know when there was radar present. had much less false alarms than the old unit too.Love the Best Buy Daily Deals !

this is a very good radar detector but it does have a problem because it has a tendency to pick up signals that are not really police radar. It is a minor inconvenience since it really is a good warning system.

What more to say, this device really works. It has very good range and supports both Radars as well as Laser detection, though I am yet to test it for Laser in real. Overall good product.

This is a very good radar detector but I wish I had purchased the one with gps due to the excessive amounts of false alarms from stores.

Radar detector works very well. I was on the freeway and the KA band started to sound. The sound got progressively louder and more intense and sure enough a state trooper appeared in my rear view mirror. Good thing my trusty Passport dectector notified me well in advance as I was able to slow down to the posted speed. And as far as the state trooper? He stopped a car about three miles down the road, poor fellow!

The product's cost is on the higher end, but well worth the price. The detector is accurate and loud enough to catch your attention, but not startle you while driving.

Outperformed my old BEL and Cobra detectors in side by side driving comparison. Passport 8500 X50 detected beyond line of sight signals around corners and over hilltops. May need to use City setting to filter our background signals when used in commercial areas. Offers programmable settings for personal preferences.

This is my second Escort 8500 that I have owned and it is still one of the best performing radar detectors on the market. Fewer false reads and great advanced warning on most bands. My only wish is that they would improve the window suction cup mount. The sticky cup is pretty good. Highly recommend this unit.

I have enjoyed learning all of the ranges this devices can detect. It really is a 360 pickup unit when installed on the windshield correctly. Might be to high of a mount for some but the added 360 radar detection is part of the reason I paid the premium for this model.

I've only had this device for a month and it's already saved me 3 tickets. I see police before they see me. Best part about it? You don't have to worry about the other cops that don't have radar on. Literally went 55 past a SHERIFF in a 25, and he/she didn't even bat and eye at me.

8500 x50 detector ~$180. Smart live cord ~$80. Waving to the jerk who tail gated then blew by me, and got pulled over with his whole family on vacation because this baby gave me almost 1 mile notice of a vicious little speed trap on I-75 North in Florida - Priceless! Nuff said.

When I went to look at radar detectors, I wanted to get something that was good quality but still at a good price range. I personally feel this is all the radar detector anyone would need as it has great range, picks up on every cop I've seen, and overall just works really well right out of the box. Would def recommend this product as the best bang for your buck.
